The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities. Let’s gather together for people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness... because it’s cold out there.
Tonight, 35 children will sleep in Shelter of Flint’s family emergency homelessness shelter.
Tonight, another 100 children will sleep in a home of their own thanks to the ongoing support of Shelter of Flint.
They are the lucky ones.
Hundreds of individuals and families, including children, have no place to call home tonight. They may be sleeping outside, or in their car, or in an abandoned house with no heat or water. And it’s cold out there.
Since 1983, Shelter of Flint has been providing shelter and hope to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the greater Genesee County area. Through three targeted program areas – a 74-bed emergency family shelter, a permanent supportive housing program that keeps families housed who are at-risk of homelessness, and a street outreach program – Shelter of Flint works to create a community where everyone has the opportunity to live in safe, sustainable housing.
Please join us as we walk to shine a light on homelessness in our community and move families from homelessness to a home of their own.
