Koinonia MN is a non-profit organization that is providing safe-sober community, resources and support for at-risk young adults and single parent families in the inner-city.
There are several initiatives that make up the work we do.
The SafeCity Project is one of those initiatives that serves as a crime reduction partnership in the Frogtown neighborhood of St. Paul. Our goal is to bridge the gap between police, individuals, businesses, and community groups. Our mission focuses on connecting at-risk and homeless individuals with essential support. We believe that building relationships and creating safe community spaces are vital for diminishing isolation, which often leads to crime and addiction. By meeting people where they're at, we listen, build trust, and help address immediate needs. Our primary focus is on supporting at-risk young adults and families.
Volunteer activities include connecting individuals facing addiction, homelessness, or trafficking with the support they need. We also run a weekly food distribution, organize safe-sober community events, and mentor peers, youth, and children.
We invite individuals and groups to join our volunteer efforts. Each week, we visit homeless encampments throughout St. Paul, providing food, clothing, and encouragement. Our consistent presence allows us to meet specific needs while building trust.
Join us on February 22, 2025 as we walk and fundraise to make a difference!
