About Central Iowa Shelter and Services

Central Iowa Shelter & Services (CISS) is dedicated to offering shelter, support, and essential services to empower individuals on their journey to self-sufficiency and permanent housing. Participation in the Coldest Night of the Year event is crucial for us, as it not only sheds light on the stark realities our neighbors experiencing homelessness face but also fosters empathy and understanding within the community. This event serves as a powerful platform to educate the public and rally support for our mission, highlighting the importance of collective action in building a more compassionate and supportive society. Through this engagement, we aim to inspire a collaborative effort to create lasting solutions for those in need of a stable and secure future.
