The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities. Let’s gather together for people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness... because it’s cold out there.
Mercy Mission House opened its doors on February 14, 2022, after a short capital campaign and building renovations. Mercy Mission House Emergency Shelter is the only shelter in Shelby County, Ohio. MMH is unique because it serves men, women and families on one campus. In addition, it has various campus partners that all serve clients from one location.
Coldest Night of the Year will allow us to build awareness of what our homeless brothers, sisters and kids face during the Ohio winter months. It costs $35,000 a month to run the shelter and we serve 30-40 people a night. We need help covering operating expenses to continue to provide a safe, warm place to sleep, heal and move forward!
We will be starting the race at the Alpha Community Center which shares a parking lot with Mercy Mission House shelter. We will start the walk with a short awards ceremony and finish at the Alpha Community Center for soups and snacks.
