What's the Challenge?

The CNOY Challenge

Big-hearted companies and community groups across North America who want to support worthy local charities, engage their people in meaningful engagement activities, and let people know about their passion for philanthropy and community.

Step Up to the Challenge

We have made some exciting updates!

Challenge Team: 1-2 Teams

Challenge Group: 3-4 Teams

Challenge Partner: 5+ Teams and a goal of $10k

Become a Challenge Group

Challenge your people to start three or more teams and become a Challenge Group. Our system will automatically create a Challenge Page listing each of your teams, your organization's name, logo, and a description of why you are walking.

Become a Challenge Partner

When you register 5+ teams and set a goal of raising $10K, you become an official Challenge Partner! You receive a Challenge Page customized with your branding to share with employees, customers, members and more! This includes a real-time leaderboard which creates (friendly! impactful!) competition amongst your teams. You also have free access to our team of campaign specialists, private and group coaching sessions, plus Blue Sea’s robust online tools. We will also send you a Promo Pack to help you promote your CNOY Challenge.

How It Works

1. Register Your Team for CNOY

2. Join The Challenge

The first team to join will manually input your business/community group name - be sure to select your Challenge Category to ensure you are listed on the scoreboard in the right place. Every additional team will be able to select your group from the dropdown menu.

3. Get a Challenge Page with 3+ Teams

This is your place to see all the teams that have registered for your Challenge. Track how your fundraising is going, and show your community that your business/community group cares for those experiencing hurt, hunger or homelessness.

Why It's Awesome:

  • Big Benefits, Easy Administration: Joining The Challenge requires $0 investment.
  • Bragging Rights! You’ll compete in The Challenge to see who thinks they can do better than you (but of course, they can’t, right?!).
  • Walk “Together”: On CNOY Day, whether your teams are located in Virginia, Missouri, or Washington, they all walk in a super-fun, family-friendly event, hosted by the local charity.

The Challenge One-Pager

Use the Challenge Brochure as a quick and easy way to explain the challenge to others. Of course, you can link them to these pages.

Check the Challenge Scoreboard

Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions - we have answers!

Who do I contact about the Challenge?

  • Phone 519-603-2250
  • Toll Free: 1-877-743-3413

What if I don’t have 5 teams?

That’s fine! Any business/community group team can join The Challenge. The benefit and support offered from Blue Sea grow and your campaign does. Contact us to find how to become a Challenge Partner.

Who pays for the challenge program?

The Challenge program was introduced to give our charity partners additional ways to fundraise successfully. We cashflow the national event expenses and price our grant payouts to maximize what our partners receive while ensuring we cover our upfront investment.

How do you vet the local charities?

All our charity partners are in good standing with the CRA/IRS, have taken Blue Sea's charity partner training and signed an annual agreement committing to operate the event the Blue Sea way.

Do we have to raise money for your charity partners? Or can we fundraise for a charity of our choice.

All Challenge teams must fundraise for the approved charity partner in their specific event location. All Blue Sea charity partners are vetted and provide much-needed services in their local communities.

Do our teams need to walk in the same location?

No – your teams can walk at any of our event locations from coast to coast!

Could we sponsor multiple locations instead/also?

Yes! There are great opportunities to sponsor multiple locations. We can help you identify the locations best suited to you and simplify the process by creating a single invoice and payment process instead of creating multiple sponsorship processes. Contact us to learn more.

Where does the money go? Does it stay local?

100% of net proceeds will go towards the local charities that your teams are fundraising for. You can find more information on our financial model and community impact here.
